About Us

Nebraska Farm Business was formed in 1976. Since then
we have been providing a variety of services to Nebraska's
farmers and ranchers including financial analysis,
business planning, and tax planning and preparation. Our
consultants have over 65 years of combined farm financial
experience. We currently work with over 400 Nebraska
producers and our membership continues to increase
each year. Each of our members has an individual
consultant that can help with everything from record
keeping to overall management of the operation. All
information is kept in strict confidentiality.

Nebraska Farm Business, Inc. is dedicated to helping
Nebraska's agricultural producers maintain quality
business records. Our primary objective is to educate
producers on how to use their financial records to properly
analyze the performance of each enterprise and their
business as a whole.

In 1976 Nebraska Farm Business was developed by and
operated as a part of the University of Nebraska
Cooperative Extension. Since 2002 the same services that
were once provided through the program at the University
have been provided by Nebraska Farm Business, Inc. We
continue to work closely with the University of Nebraska to
collect and maintain data that is used to develop an Annual
Report of averages. This report is used by our consultants
and members to compare the individual farmer’s business
analysis production numbers with the average production
numbers of all farmers in their region and in the entire
state.

Our long history and established business practices
provide us with a solid foundation on which to not only
meet the needs of our clients, but also exceed the
expectations of our current and future members by
providing them with invaluable accounting, business
analysis, and tax preparation services.

Becoming a member of Nebraska Farm Business Inc. is
available to all Nebraska farmers and ranchers. Full
membership services provided by NFBI include monthly
accounting processing and the generation of accounting
reports, thorough year-end business analysis, comparative
business analysis, and individual tax planning and
business management consultations. Our members can
choose to take advantage of all of our services, or
customize their service package to meet the specific needs
of their operation.

The type of agricultural production and the size of each
operation vary greatly from member to member. Gross
income of our membership ranges from over $6 million to
less than $25,000. Whatever the size or profitability of
your operation is and wherever it may be located,
Nebraska Farm Business Inc. can help you organize and
develop the management tools necessary to ensure your
operation’s successful future.

Determining your operation’s financial position by reviewing
the entire farm business analysis and the detailed
enterprise analysis will affect many of the decisions you
make on a day-to-day basis. We can teach you how to
easily identify your break-even price and set price
objectives. We can also help you to develop a written plan
that indicates how to maximize the return on the
investments that you make in your operation. Learning how
to employ the information provided in the business analysis

management and tax preparation services. Our
consultation services include a wide range of educational
