Meet the Consultants

Tina Barrett (Director)

I am originally from Hordville, Nebraska (North of the Interstate between York and Aurora) where I grew up on a family farm.  The operation consists of mostly irrigated corn and soybeans.  I certainly learned a lot about the diversity of agriculture when I married a Panhandle native where farming is so much different than where I grew up!

I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in May of 1999 with a degree in Agriculture Economics and an emphasis in Farm and Ranch Management.  I started as a consultant with Nebraska Farm Business after graduation and have also been the executive director since 2002.  I thoroughly enjoy working with clients all across the state helping to solve their financial needs and best manage their tax liabilities.

My husband, Anthony and I, have been married since 1998 and have four very active girls, Taylor, Natalie, Carly, and Anna at home.

In 2002 I retired as director of farm management operations with the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources, University of Nebraska Cooperative Extension.

I received my B.S. in agricultural economics from Iowa State University and a M.S. from the University of Nebraska -Lincoln with a major in agricultural economics and a minor in accounting.  In 1989, I completed requirements to practice before the IRS as an enrolled agent.  I have worked in the field of agricultural accounting, analysis, and income tax preparation since 1968.

From 1976 to July of 2002, I was the coordinator of the Nebraska Farm Business Association.  Over the last 30 plus years, I have worked with Nebraska farmers and ranches to provide financial analysis of their operations.

My brother and I were charter members of the Nebraska Farm Business Association in 1976.  We are the third generation to farm and truck south of Lincoln.

I received a degree in production agriculture technology from the University of Nebraska School of Technical Agriculture in Curtis.  I have been employed by Nebraska Farm Business since 1986 and I completed requirements to practice before the IRS as an enrolled agent in 1990.  I primarily work on tax planning and tax preparation.

My hobbies include flying and skiing.

I am originally from Harrisburg, Nebraska.  That is the small dot between Scottsbluff and Kimball in the Panhandle.  I grew up on my family’s farm there.  We grow dryland wheat, proso millet, corn, and sunflowers.  We also operate a small cow/calf operation and a back grounding feedlot in the winter.

I graduated from UNL in August of 2000 with a Bachelors Degree in Diversified Agriculture.  I worked two winters for NFBA after graduation.  I started with NFBI full time in November of 2002.  I enjoy working closely with clients in their individual operations.

I have been married to Tina; yes the boss, since 1998.  We have four daughters, Taylor, Natalie, Carly, and Anna that pretty much take up any spare time my family may have.

I am originally from Steinauer, Nebraska, a small community in the Southeast part of the state. After graduation I left Nebraska and have recently returned “home” to Lincoln.

In 1996, I earned my bachelor’s degree in accounting. I worked for several years as a financial analyst for a manufacturing company, then took a break and became a stay at home mom while my kids were small. In 2007 I changed directions and went to work for a small public accounting firm. I joined NFBI in July of 2008 as a Farm Financial Consultant, where I enjoy working with clients in various parts of Nebraska.

My hobbies include sewing, biking, and I love camping with my family.

I grew up in Nebraska City, NE on my family's cow/calf operation.  Our operation primarily consists of show cattle.  I have been a part of Nebraska Farm Business since May of 2010 as a part-time employee until I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  I graduated from UNL in December of 2010 with a Bachelor's Degree in Agribusiness with an emphasis in Banking and Financing.  I started full time with NFBI after graduation.

Today, I am still actively involved with my family's cow/calf operation.

I grew up in Beatrice, NE and currently live near Lincoln.  I earned my Bachelor's degree in Finance in 2007 and my MBA in 2008, both from Northwest Missouri State University.  After graduation I worked for the State of Nebraska until I began working with NFBI in June of 2011.

Outside of work, I enjoy helping my husband with his own farming operation in Southeast Nebraska.
